Undergraduate Research Assistants
I’ve conducted much of my research at Bucknell with the help of undergraduate political science students. A few examples:
- Julia Clayton ’24 is assisting me in my current research on media coverage and public opinion of Senate procedure, which makes use of opinion data from the student-supported Bucknell Institute for Public Policy Survey Research Laboratory.
- My new research on congressional party election agendas began with research by Solomon Wise ’20 on the history of congressional agendas.
- Recent work on changing rules of House legislative procedure started with exhaustive data collection by Meghan Byrd ’16.
- A team of Bucknell students helped me to conduct my earlier research on the effects of the Seventeenth Amendment on representation in the Senate.
One of the very rewarding parts of teaching at Bucknell is working with senior political science majors who choose to research and write senior honors theses. Students I’ve advised include:
